The Return of the King is a Side Mission in King Arthur: Knight's Tale. The The Return of the King mission is part of Act 3 and it is located at Bone Valley. Main objective for the mission is to destroy the cult and help Caintigern stop the ritual. Side Mission Introduction
"After Morgawse's unforeseen departure a new, bloodthirsty cult rose among the Picts. These madmen now ravage the countryside, kidnapping people to sacrifice during their grim rituals, and all our efforts to track them down failed. Now a renegade Moon Woman, Caintigern reached out to us and revealed the location of their hideout. Let's strike them down before they disappear again."

"King Bres was sent back to hell where he belongs. Regrettably, in the chaos of the battle many of the cultists got away and they are no doubt still working on waking their king. It's not the last time we've heard about them."

Save Caintigern
- Caintigern must survive
Once you start the mission, you will immediately encounter Caintigern cornered by the Picts, now you must save her and you will have the advantage to strike them down from behind. Clear the enemies in the area to continue. You will then have a short conversation with Caintigern as she explains the situation, then she will temporarily join your party.
Stop the ritual
Continue following the path ahead, you will encounter a group of Picts in the area, this will initiate combat. There will be Pict Warriors, Painted Bowmen, and a Pict Chosen for this battle, all the enemies are positioned in front of your heroes. Eliminate the enemies in the area to proceed. Follow the path and continue heading north, you will encounter Caintigern's tribe being cornered, you will have the opportunity to backstab the opponents for your first turn. Defeat the opponents in the area and save Caintigern's tribesmen. Afterwards, there's a campfire nearby to rest if needed.
- Kill the enemies before reinforcement arrives (3 turns)
Now make your way to the west part of the map, a quest marker will be indicated on your map beside the campfire icon. As you go through the bridge, you will come across a guard post, Caintigern suggests to take them down as fast as possible to avoid reinforcements. Take them down within three turns, it is recommended to start off with an AoE skill that targets multiple enemies, then take advantage of the backstab for your first turn. After defeating the enemies, continue following the quest marker, and you will arrive at the place where the ritual is taking place. There will be a number of Pict Chosen, Painted Bowmen, and Pict Warriors in the area, as well as a Grand Shaman within the enemies. Clear the enemies in the area to stop the ritual and finally complete the mission. Afterwards, you can choose to finish the mission or continue exploring the area.
