Essences in King Arthur: Knight's Tale, are consumable items. Essences can be consumed to grant permanent buffs, abilities and extra immunity to the selected Hero. This is unlike Potions which grant temporary effects and are mainly used for combat. These Essences can usually be obtained by completing various Challenges. Each challenge yields a unique reward and is also unlike the random loot obtained around the different locations during missions.
Essences are unique unlike Potions, you can only acquire 1 Essence per completed challenge, and once it is consumed, it will be removed from your inventory and the selected Hero acquires the permanent buff. Apart from that, it is important to mention that each Hero can only have four effects from a consumed Essence. This page covers a list of all the Essences found in King Arthur: Knight's Tale.
